The strategic focus in the area of “Research and Development“ continues to be in the regionalisation and in the focusing of development services on the dominant product requirements in the particular markets. In order to enable specific customers to develop new applications and further develop their own service portfolios, the focus is on comprehensive system solutions.
The "Welding Technology" division continued to concentrate on the non-stop development of new product lines to strengthen (revitalise) its core business. The technical reworking of system solutions successfully established on the market is also a part of this. The extension of the portfolio to provide product complementation necessary for the market has rounded off the activities in the classical area. In the growth segment “Automated Welding (Robotics)”, the customer-specific orientation has been placed more clearly in the foreground using the value analysis re-engineering of the core products and the buying-in of suitable peripheral products. These measures have been accompanied by the development of technical expertise on the customer side in order to meet the growing demand on the part of customers for fully and semi-automated welding applications in the long term.
Within the “Construction Chemicals“ division, activities are concentrated on the continuous development of new, non-hazardous products and system supplements. The overall focus is on environmentally friendly and solvent-free sealing and coating systems for various construction applications. An improvement in the overall processing is also to be achieved here by targeted product modification. In addition to the reduction of processing defects, the resource efficiency is therefore also sustainably optimised. In addition, the portfolio is rounded off by ancillary products necessary for the successful marketing of chemical products within the “Welding Technology“ business division.
